Home Contact Country Blocking: For Dedicated Servers For Shared Servers Country Lookup Tool Rules Generator |
A site for both the WebMaster and the WebUser
Country BlockingWe've got two different utility packages available for free downloading that can help you block entire countries. One is the IPCountryBlock package which can only be used on a dedicated server. This is useful because it can block access to the entire server and everything that is running on it. If you use this on a server that acts as a firewall, then your entire network will be protected. This also works on home and business computers. Don't let the term "dedicated server" confuse you. Your home computer is also a dedicated server. Although, you will need to be running Linux for this to work. Sorry, but I don't provide much support for Windows machines. The other country blocking method we have is for web sites running on "shared servers". This would be what the bulk of the world's web sites are running on. If you have a web site running on a remote hosting service, it is most likely on a shared server. Dedicated servers cost too much for the average person to run a web site on. Preferably, your hosting company has you on a Linux server, although this particular package may work on your hosting company's Windows server provided the server is running the Apache webserver with PHP. Visit one of the following two pages for more info:
Check out the IPCountryBlock package for an entire dedicated server.
You'll discover how nice it is to be able to easily block 90-99 percent of the people who are causing you problems. |
